On April 1st we…

Going to be a short one as just wanted to put something here as a record of what went on. Today is a milestone of sorts for our programme – first day of the Summer Camp for the students (quite aptly started on April 1st as well) and the start of a month-long intensive programme that will prepare them for possible employment or further education. Was pretty excited about today and being the first day and all, it attracted all the bigwigs from Indus who were quite happy with the progress and how things went.

Huge sigh of relief as the first day’s usually the most worrisome and after worrying all day yesterday about logistics, administrative issues as well as how the students would take to the class, was glad to see that there wasn’t a huge difficulty with understanding of English (for most of them) but just need to get them used to speaking out clearly. That should come with time but the first day was most encouraging as far as their performance and willingness to speak out is concerned.

On a different note, was too busy most of the day to realise that it’s actually April Fool’s Day. Thankfully no prank was played on any of those involved in today’s class – got away easy this time. But in the spirit of the day, have to share this with you – Google’s purported joint venture with Virgin Inc to establish a permanent settlement on Mars. What? Yes, you heard about Virgle here. And here. Happy April 1st!

You always worry, though it always turns out well (of course mah, given that you’re the coordinator!). Anyway, congrats on a good start. I can’t wait to get back there to ninja some work off you!

Thanks. But the worry is always there…there’s quite a bit riding on this and we have to make sure it turns out right. Some ninja-ing of work will always be welcome. 🙂
