2nd weekend here and boy how different it’s been. From the fairly lonely and individually spent weekend of last week to the quieter yet more restful weekend this week, I think I don’t really need to think about settling in anymore. Am going to be working instead of getting myself familiar with the area around the school and more importantly how to get around the place. So far, have been relying on school transport or the kindness of my new colleagues and friends to bring me around – it’s great to have this but need to be able to be a little more independent on my own.
First on the list of priorities is to learn how to handle the public transport system. As mentioned previously, Indus International School is over 25km from the edge of Bangalore city and though one cannot say that the links are tenuous, it’s not exactly the easiest place to get to and from either. Will be working on this in the days and weeks to come – will probably have stories to tell about that too. Am pretty sure of that.
Managed to get to Mass yesterday – most pleased about that what I felt is pretty difficult to describe here. So maybe this might be better.
The week’s looking pretty interesting and quite packed at the same time – looking forward to that and to exploring the local community with Manoj as he shows me all the ways in which Indus has been reaching out. Hopefully will be able to do a little bit of my own to help. That’d be nice no?
