Edit: Too late. This is a tag/random message board. Ah well. one tried. Tag away! Will leave the gibberish there as it seems to fit in with what’s been going on here.

Right, down to getting some things down here. Decided that enough is enough and am going to start this out before this turns into a weird tag-boardy place. I’m going to be posting weird writing, semi-creative and mostly crazed writing here. Hopefully.

First off, some Gibberish.

The sun sinks up and grazes the top-hat of the lollipop. ‘What next?’ said the crow to the brick that jumped from the depths of the sky. Jolly Rogers and Peters sat beside the curries and made cacophonous silence with their hearing aids. Oh joy! See the reign of the armchairs in the race to put hair on the chest of an earthworm. Oh happiness! See the leaves of the windows burst forth in the rowing of the sinks towards the end.

A road stretches from eye to eye and allows everyone to tread lightly where angles don’t really want to. What road can this be? Can it be the one that charges down the dust-bowl regularly? Or is it the one that uses curtains to seek recompense? Alas, one seeks and does not find immediately, the needle that rolls from the hill. What haystack can we find in the moss and how many stones have they baked into pies?

Stanley why have you not been attending G208 review meeting. That is so unprofessional. I know it is the holidays but you need to show up for meetings.

  21. 23 Ned 27 February 2008 at 3:28 03

Stanley we have a sore lack of purple in the office these days.

You Stan we decided to change all of your G208 problems so you better turn up and start defending your turf.

    :)

  25. 27 You know who 27 February 2008 at 3:30 03

Yeah. The review team liked all of Preman’s problems but all of yours have been asked to be redone.

  26. 28 You know who 27 February 2008 at 3:37 03

See if you had a facebook account we’d be using your wall, instead of here.

  27. 29 gymstan 27 February 2008 at 7:11 07

Wha piang. This was meant for me to randomly post nonsense writing. Looks like it got hijacked.

I don’t miss singlish (yet) but am speaking alot more properly than I’d normally do.

This sounds suspiciously like the result of mild inebriation. Hyuk Hyuk.

But nice to hear from all of you and will keep this open and add a few real random etchings in a bit. Promise.

  28. 30 jess 28 February 2008 at 7:48 07

Er..I think this happens becos’ you did not put up a tagboard for us to disturb you “properly” hahahah….

  29. 31 Pre Man 29 February 2008 at 5:11 05

    We want tagboard!
    We want tagboard!
    We want tagboard, now!

  30. 32 jess 1 March 2008 at 7:20 07

Stan..is this the “unofficial” tagboard already.. hahaha…

  31. 33 gymstan 3 March 2008 at 7:14 07

WordPress doesn’t support most of the tagboardy kind of stuff so…sigh. Yes, this shall be the unofficial tagboard. Democracy sucks no?

  32. 34 HL 11 March 2008 at 2:49 02

I feel “mong cheong yi” ( stupid in old korean), cos I didn’t know all this was happening here……now then I know….but not too late right?? :)

  33. 35 You know who 11 March 2008 at 3:42 03

    yay! unofficial tag board…

  35. 37 Liyin 12 March 2008 at 11:14 11

    Li Yin too.

  36. 38 gymstan 12 March 2008 at 11:57 11

No wallahs as yet and it’s better late than never no?

Curries are good though sometimes, to much dhal gives one gas.

One says ‘hello’ to all…quite a tag-thingie this is turning up to be no?

  37. 39 wa'hpn wa'hpn 12 March 2008 at 7:18 07

i’ve gone from pooping 4x a day in bangalore to just 2x/day back in sgp! yay! saving the world through saving toilet paper!

all geared up for the constipation i’m about to suffer from when i hit the beach and the deep fried food with magic powder in lanta tmrw!

yes, half of CED DOES need to know about my bowel movements. hurhur…

  38. 40 gymstan 12 March 2008 at 9:05 09

It’s the vegetables and beans I tell you.

And since we’re already having too much information here’s more – you shouldn’t be using toilet paper! Do it the Indian/Thai/Malaysian way!

  39. 41 jess 13 March 2008 at 4:23 04

    I love magic powdered stuff!

  40. 42 Karen 14 March 2008 at 11:37 11

My not so good ear ‘heard’ from Preman that Jess, Lishan and Kok Hsien went to India for PROJECT STANLEY! Wahaha, I din know you so celeb.

  41. 43 gymstan 15 March 2008 at 10:50 10

Where got? It was a legit project…just happened that I was somewhere around the same area. In India, in Bangalore. Thereabouts.

  42. 44 jess 20 March 2008 at 11:44 11

    preman got his kurtas :)

  43. 45 gymstan 21 March 2008 at 3:35 03

Great, Thanks! So does Preman look more ethnic in ethnic wear? Doth clothes maketh the ethnicity or does ethnicity maketh the clothes? Profound that…

  44. 46 jess 29 March 2008 at 10:39 10

Heard from peck that this week is indus’ school break. While you were busying with homecooked meals, Pam, LY, Bee and myself made some wicked peanut butter cookies! :D

  45. 47 gymstan 30 March 2008 at 11:30 11

Groovy. Looks like the peanut theme’s strong in this one. Thanks for the suggestion to do satay. Worked well. Next up: Ma Po Tofu, if the tofu can be found.

  46. 48 wa'hpn wa'hpn 31 March 2008 at 3:01 03

wat else you doing over break? never go jiak a bit of hong?

  47. 49 HL 31 March 2008 at 4:02 04

Pls go jiak hong…cos I think I NEED one soon…can’t believe we have 2 weeks of Foundation!! BTW, your coloured hair looks cool….how about keeping it permenant? Oh…if you want tofu..I think I can send you some from Daiso…they are the “pre-packed” for “space” kind….haha

  48. 50 jess 31 March 2008 at 10:02 10

tofu for space travel?! sounds dodgy hahaha

  49. 51 gymstan 1 April 2008 at 8:22 08

No Jiaking of hong cos preparing for the programme that starts April 1st. (No joke there). Jiaking hong will reserve for July during the long hols.

Space Tofu does indeed sound dodgy. Freeze dried (?) soy products sound weird man…From Daiso some more.

  50. 52 wa'hpn wa'hpn 1 April 2008 at 9:12 09

i wanna go jiak hong in july too. lemme know dates soon so i can input my leave plans for MCs and bug sloth to take leave too hehe :)

  51. 53 HL 1 April 2008 at 10:49 10

Hey, can I “borrow” your writing ( the 1st 2 para on the Rain of Spring) entry? Need it for a workshop….haha for Nurse Managers…. Pls! Thanks…will send you space age freeze dry food for compensation! :P

  52. 54 gymstan 1 April 2008 at 11:42 11

Borrowing writing is perfectly fine. Do feel free to use whatever’s here for whatever reason. Just let me know what people think/how they react to stuff. Reactions (shocked, aghast or otherwise) are good.

  53. 55 HL 2 April 2008 at 3:54 03

Reactions were good….they thought you were a great writer. I almost wanted to show them your blog…hmm..maybe I should show them the blog…. :P

  54. 56 gymstan 2 April 2008 at 10:29 10

Cool. Sure, show them the blog by all means but that would probably make them change their mind.

What was this used for anyway?

  55. 57 jess 7 April 2008 at 10:39 10

    first week of school! arggg….
what can i say. imagine that…..

  56. 58 HL 18 April 2008 at 5:08 05

Oh..it was for the “Nurse” specialist dip. This is 2nd week of class and Preman is angsting about his class…He has “slaughter” the students with his scoractic questioning.. :P

  57. 59 Preman 18 April 2008 at 5:08 05

    Muhahahhahahah bloody student bits everywhere

  58. 60 gymstan 19 April 2008 at 11:10 11

Noooooooooooooo. But Socrates was a bit of a pacifist who rarely washed. He would probably stink his students into submission.

  59. 61 jess 20 April 2008 at 11:04 11

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY STANLEY BOY!!!

  60. 62 Preman 20 April 2008 at 11:39 11

Happy B-day bro. My the beans and lentels be with you. Sorry have not been responding to your mails about indus. Been dooing the usual garbage. Catch you soon enjoy the bday week.

  61. 63 gymstan 21 April 2008 at 10:32 10

Thanks for the greetings! Was trying to keep things low key and not mention the fact that I’m getting older. But thanks for the very kind thoughts.

Beans and lentils are definitely with me. In large quantities. As are their by-products. ;)

  62. 64 jess 23 April 2008 at 7:12 07

    Leave some by-pdts for Preman!

  63. 65 gymstan 25 April 2008 at 11:02 11

For sure. By-products especially of the gaseous persuasion are always available. Always.

  64. 66 gary 26 April 2008 at 8:18 08

    My 1st random etch!

Hey Stan, been some time since I read your postings and am happy to see that all is well with you, and that you haven’t lost any of your “stanley-ness”. Keep ‘em coming cos it certainly entertains us here (Not sure if the rest actually read the postings or just like to post their own whinges…haha!)

Sorry I missed your bday. I had a great time with my 30th celebration with my students in a camp, and it was more than I could have asked for for a special occasion.

Say Hi to Ted for me. ;)

    Ciao…

  65. 67 gymstan 27 April 2008 at 12:39 12

Gayree! Thanks for the wishes – sorry I missed yours too. Happy very belated Birthday and glad yours was a great one.

Also glad that it’s entertaining at least and Ted sends his best regards. In a mantisy sort of way.

  66. 68 jess 8 May 2008 at 7:46 07

why is there a mosaic pattern like symbol displayed as our avatar?

  67. 69 gymstan 8 May 2008 at 9:59 09

Hmm…think there’s someone at wordpress who’s creating random mosaic patters so no one gets a blank avatar. Weird. The purple’s nice though…

  68. 70 jess 14 May 2008 at 8:31 08

Thanks Stan for the Pepsi yesterday! and Green Tea today :)

  69. 71 wa'hpn wa'hpn 14 May 2008 at 8:56 08

who’s up for lunch and more drinks today???

  70. 72 gymstan 15 May 2008 at 11:04 11

Lunch? Think it’s probably roti, rice, dhal and some aloo or other. Curd with a pinch of sugar after. Ahhhhhh.

  71. 73 HL 12 June 2008 at 10:38 10

Realised no one has really used the tag board for a while!! I am at my new workplace…still trying to get use to the ‘paper’ environment. :P

  72. 74 Bee 24 June 2008 at 11:59 11

Stan, testing..can we communicate via here

  73. 75 Bee 24 June 2008 at 12:21 12

    Hi Stan

Looks like we may have to communicate here. James lost his Skype account.

  74. 76 jess 28 June 2008 at 11:50 11

Maybe you should try use iGoogle and add a google talk gadget inside. Works for a lot for those who suffer from IM blockage.

  75. 77 Ned 4 July 2008 at 9:35 09

    Yo Stan!

Hey I’m sure news got to you by now that I’ve left! Heading to Ibaraki-ken, Japan in August for a stint of e.lang assistant teaching on the JET Programme.

Glad to see from here (and hear from the others!) how your trip is panning out for you. Seems like an exciting journey of personal and spiritual growth! :D

We should have another round of Random Etchings some day, everyone? Maybe we can set a new record of 150 Responses to “Random Etchings”!

Catchya around dude, and you’re certainly missed as always. Do drop by if you feel like a dose of Tokyo – my apartment’s 2.5 hours away by regular train from Maid Cafe Street where some serial stabbing took place a couple of weeks back.

    Exciting times, hoot!
